A szublimáció légköre
Az Állam utáni sóvárgás szimulált menetrendet szül. Az általános szublimáció légköre uralkodik. Nincs itt hely, még ha rom is, mely együttérzést keltene. A táj, az építészet és a tengerpart mind az eszményített önuralom varázsába burkolózik. A túlnyomó színpadiasság, amit Eric Baudelaire létrehoz, az időtlenséggel játszik. Vajon egy összecsapás dúlta ország maradványait nézzük, vagy egy kommunizmusból embrióként előbukkanó nemzetről van szó? Sorsok sokaságában küszködik minden; történelmi entrópia egyetlen helyen. S hogy átfogja ezt a kettősséget, mintegy formát adjon e bonyolult fogalomnak és összetett sóvárgásnak, a művész a Szépség megmunkálását választotta, nyersanyagként kezelve, úgy dolgozva rajta, mint valami alapanyagon.
Ez azonban nem a “tetszetős képek” szépsége, vagy ha mégis, akkor csak egy képzelt Államból küldött képeslapok szépségének tekinthető. Amikor Eric Baudelaire összerakja szépségének retorikáját, monumentális hivatkozási alapra utal: Andrej Tarkovszkij filmjeire.
